Ask a question

Aquamarine dress rings were the height of fashion in the postwar period. The increasingly wealthy middle class often had enough money to buy more than just an engagement ring for a woman to wear in the way of expensive jewellery.

Dinner rings, or cocktail rings, were signature jewels, encapsulating the escape of women from the drudgery of the kitchen and housework, at least on occasion.

The design of this lovely platinum example is simpler than most, and not particularly wide.

It will appeal to someone who loves this type of statement ring but normally find the proportions too wide across the finger, and too heavy and structural.

The construction is typically open with a scrolled gallery, and the simple rows of diamonds in a millegrain setting add finesse and glamour.
