SOLD: Victorian ship’s wheel gold fob with sardonyx and bloodstone, circa 1890s
$596.30
Out of stock
This jaunty ship’s wheel fob ornament from the end of the 19th century is handcrafted in 18-carat yellow gold and set with bloodstone on one side and sardonyx on the other.
Nautical themes have provided inspiration for jewellers over the centuries, including anchors, ropes, cables, flags and compasses.
The strong geometry throughout, including the engraving, gives this piece a contemporary feel, despite it being more than 120 years old.
