Here’s a variation on a type of turn-of-the-20th-century English substantial gold ring set with gemstones in a low gypsy or, as here, a bead setting. I find them so appealing.

Three rich red unheated rubies alternate diagonally with two good old mine cut diamonds, counterbalanced with a deep scroll on the opposing edges, top and bottom.

Rings like this are robust enough to wear every day, look great on their own or stacked, and offer great value compared with their modern handcrafted counterparts.

• Handmade in 18-carat yellow gold
• One oval cut natural untreated ruby at centre estimated at 0.26 carats
• Two smaller oval cut natural untreated rubies estimated to total 0.10 carats
• Two old mine cut diamonds estimated to total 0.25 carats, graded set as H/SI
• Comes with an independent insurance valuation for $5,000
• Size approximately 7 or N 1/2, but easily resized free of charge
• Weight is 4.5 grams
• In excellent antique condition
• Will come in a Karen Deakin gift box (my antique boxes are not for sale)
• Note: some of the other jewellery is for sale separately – please get in touch if you’d like information about any of it

Please examine the photographs carefully – they form part of the description.

I’d be very happy to send more information and images. Layaway available.
