This beautiful antique ruby and diamond cluster ring features a rich red oval untreated ruby of more than one and a half carats, with very good clarity too.

The 10 surrounding good-quality lively white old mine cut diamonds weigh approximately 1.2 carats.

Dating from about 1880, the scrolled 18-carat yellow gold setting works so well with the warm tones of the Thai ruby.

The lovely bright red hue is less blue than its Burmese cousins but to my eye a truer red.

The proportions of ruby to diamonds is wonderful – the ruby is the hero but it’s complemented with just the right size accent diamonds, neither too big nor too small.
