SOLD: Victorian rose gold guard chain, circa 1880
$1,407.00

Here’s an appealing fine nine-carat rose gold trombone link guard chain made in England in about 1900.
Three oval links followed by a long trombone one form a pleasing, simple pattern.
The sturdy original dog clip hangs from the end, ready to take a pendant or locket, though wrapped two or three times around the neck this chain makes a lovely necklace on its own.
The rectangular tag near the dog clip bearing the carat mark is typical of long gold English chains of the period.
The links are in excellent unworn condition too – very important in a delicate chain like this.
