SOLD: Victorian lapis lazuli and gold bead necklace, circa 1880
$1,474.00
Out of stock
Lapis lazuli and gold marry perfectly, as appreciated by ancient civilisations, and here in this Etruscan Revival necklace from the mid to late 19th century.
High-carat gold beads covered with super fine filigree alternate with rich blue lapis ones flecked with gold pyrite.
The clasp is invisible, encased in a slightly larger gold bead – a lovely finishing touch.
Skilful knotting between each bead prevents friction and enables the necklace to sit well.
It’s about 19 inches long – an eminently wearable size for most necks.
