SOLD: Victorian gold knot ring, hallmarked Chester 1898
$1,273.00
Out of stock
This plump 18-carat yellow gold knot ring was handmade in Chester in 1898.
Typical of its kind, it’s been constructed from long strips of gold skilfully woven together.
The two initial strands are formed into the double band, then worked together to form the flowing top section, incorporating another piece to produce the three-section knot.
Three double bars of gold applied to each shoulder add further textural interest.
The size is small, H 1/2 or 4 1/4, but my jeweller could size it up (or down) if needed.
Though this is a Victorian ring its clean lines mean it would work well with contemporary jewellery.
