Not your average curb link bracelet!

This 18-carat yellow gold antique beauty from about 1900 is made to be worn with either the engraved or plain side shown uppermost. Thus the name “day and night”, with the fancier side intended for evening wear.

The finely engraved padlock is clearly marked “J.G and S 18ct” – probably denoting John Grinsell & Sons of London and Birmingham – and the individual links are stamped 18 or 18c.

In excellent condition, the weight is 36.2 grams, substantial for an antique, and therefore, hollow linked example.

Good-quality English nine- and 15- carat antique curb bracelets in unworn condition are increasingly hard to find, and 18-carat ones like this even more so.
