Here’s a classic three-stone diamond ring set in platinum, the middle old European cut diamond of just over half a carat flanked by a diamond of a quarter carat on each side – adding up to
just over a carat in total.

The mount is modern, though the stones are antique. Diamonds have been repurposed since antiquity and one often finds old stones in new settings.

Here the diamonds are lovely quality – G-H colour and VS1 clarity, plus well-proportioned to provide lots of light play.

There is next to no wear on this ring and it is suitable for careful everyday wear.

Split claws hold the diamonds securely in place but give delicacy to the design. And the knife-edge setting and pierced sides all add to the overall impression of lightness.
