The oval natural unheated Ceylon sapphire of about 2 1/2 carats is wonderfully even in colour – from every angle the hue is vibrant and lively.

It’s flanked on both sides by a white bright round old European brilliant cut diamond – together these total just over 1/2 a carat.

The bezel setting offers an uncluttered outline, while the millegrained surround adds delicacy.

This is robust enough for everyday wear yet light and pretty in appearance.
