This classic ruby and diamond three-stone ring features a bright untreated oval ruby of about 1.06 carats, flanked by two old brilliant cut white and lively diamonds.

Despite the presence of the antique diamonds and the traditional pierced 18-carat yellow gold setting, this ring was made in about 1975, as a partial hallmark attests.

It’s a very attractive and wearable ring – and these are hard to find from any period. This holds particularly true for good-quality unheated rubies of more than a carat.

The proportions work, it’s finely made, and the gemstones dance as the light moves over the minimal fine claw setting.
