Ask a question

This superb micro-mosaic from about 1850 charmingly depicts the Roman deity Flora – goddess of flowers, spring, youth and fertility – wielding a glorious garland of blooms.

It’s unusual to see one of these miniature artworks in any colour but black. Here the blue glass surround adds brightness to the celebratory scene. The frame is 18-carat yellow gold.

And it’s in pristine condition – there are no missing tesserae.

• Handmade in 18-carat gold with glass tesserae
• Approximately 5.2cm (just over 2 inches) tall, 4cm (1 1/2 inches) wide
• Weight is 24.7 grams
• In excellent antique condition – there are a couple of minor flaws on the glass back dating from the time it was made but the front is immaculate
• Will come in a Karen Deakin gift box (my antique boxes are not for sale)
• Note: some of the other jewellery is for sale separately – please get in touch if you’d like information about any of it

Please examine the photographs carefully – they form part of the description.

I’d be very happy to send more information and images. Layaway available.
