This exquisite late Georgian seal from the 1830s has an open turquoise forget-me-not next to another in bud on both sides.

Engraved green gold leaves encircle the buds, sprouting from a stem that forms the top loop.

The main body of yellow gold is meticulously stippled. Beneath is a chalcedony seal engraved with the initials MS in gothic script.

The 1830s saw a blossoming of romanticism, in contrast to the classically inspired jewellery of the previous decades from about 1780.

Flowers, coloured golds and ornamentation abounded. This unusual seal is a delightful representation of the period.
