SOLD: Late Georgian gold and carnelian seal fob, circa 1820
$1,005.00
Out of stock
Here’s a delightful late Georgian carnelian seal fob set in 15-carat rose gold from about 1820.
The seal base bears an ornate coat of arms surmounted by a gryphon head and adorned with flowering garlands.
The gold mount on each side centres a gold heart atop twisted gold wire, attached to C-shaped outer arms with a trefoil base. Little curls and acanthus leaves are artfully incorporated.
The condition is excellent, so the restrained design shines through in all its crispness.
