Ask a question

Vibrant emerald green pastes star in this early 19th century nine-carat yellow gold pendant.

In the centre is a natural pearl frame surrounding a glass locket that would once have held the hair of a loved one.

It’s large and substantial for its type, which could possibly mean it’s early Victorian rather than late Georgian.

I love the high-sided antique pastes with their tiny top tables.

It’s wonderful they are all still perfectly matched and unabraded after so long, a testament to the craftsmanship of the original setter and the care of previous owners.
