SOLD: Georgian flat cut garnet mourning brooch/pendant, inscribed 1832
$1,072.00
Out of stock
Here’s a sweet late Georgian flat cut garnet mourning brooch in nine-carat rose gold, typical of its kind.
The existing ring for a safety chain has allowed a sturdy jump ring to be added, turning this into a pendant as well – without any loss to its integrity.
The deep opening locket back allows for keepsakes of your choice, though originally it would probably have held a locket of hair belonging to Catharine Lax, who died on the 20th of August 1832 aged 39.
It’s for sale with or without the mix of gemstones I put inside – if you choose without I’ll reduce the price by A$300.
