Pretty and feminine are words that come to mind when describing Edwardian jewellery, and this five-stone diamond ring with fine bezel settings fits them exactly.

It’s handcrafted in 18-carat yellow gold, with the diamonds set in platinum, enabling a minimal but secure setting around the stones.

Previously the only white precious metal available was silver, and far more was needed for setting, owing to its softness.

The early brilliant cut diamonds here are white and bright, and enhanced with a millegrained edge.

The gallery is finely hand-pierced, too, another lovely detail.

There is very slight wear to the gallery and band – I’ve allowed for this in the price – but, if not worn constantly against another ring, this is still suitable for careful everyday wear.
