This lovely Edwardian 18-carat yellow gold and platinum ring features a pretty oval bright blue sapphire of more than a carat in a fluted platinum top setting of good old mine cut diamonds.

Unusually, the diamonds are divided into eight sections, the space between adding lightness to the design.

A tiny rose cut diamond has been added to both top and bottom diamond setting, subtly extending the vertical axis.

Fine millegraining surrounds all the stones, adding to the soft feminine look so fashionable in the early years of the 20th century.

Sitting low on the finger, and in wonderful condition, this is a ring that could be worn every day with care.
