Here’s an appealing Edwardian Ceylon sapphire and diamond oval cluster ring, handcrafted in platinum.

The sapphire is lively, characteristic of good Ceylonese specimens, and is a really pretty mid-blue.

The surrounding old cut diamonds form a double halo – with the larger ones surrounding the centre stone set in individual fine collets with space between each one, and the smaller ones set in a solid outer border. It provides an elegant variation on a classic design.

Fine millegrain edges to all the settings add refinement.

The ring sits very low on the finger in a pierced mount, and has lovely engraving on the tapered band – a sign of the care that has gone into every detail of its making.
