Ask a question

So much skill has gone into the making of this pretty turquoise and 15-carat gold early Victorian pendant.

Eight raised sections form a low dome with a flat octagonal centre panel, each element set with a turquoise surrounded by delicate engraved leaves, suggestive of forget-me-nots.

The back contains a finely woven lock of hair forming an intricate knot. And Rococo-like scrolls adorn the edge and back border.

A small, modern nine-carat gold split ring enables it to be worn with chains of varying thickness.

It’s most likely this was made to be a token of affection rather than a mourning pendant.
