I love the exuberant swirls of this Art Nouveau pearl and diamond brooch – its dynamism and dimensionality. Quality is apparent from every angle.

The river pearl “calla lilies” are white and lustrous, the rose cut diamond buds sparkle brightly and the bloomed gold leaves curve sinuously below.

Even the pin, hinge and hook have been made with great care and attention to detail.

It all adds up to a fine example from a time of great flowering in jewellery design and artistic expression.
