Ask a question

This pretty sapphire and diamond ring from about 1925 is in nearly mint condition.

The millegrain border and sapphire setting are still crisp, while the solid setting and band remain unworn.

Like so many early 20th century rings the sides are appealing too. The rich 18-carat yellow gold mount is skilfully hand pierced, adding delicacy and interest to the overall design.

The top setting is a separate platinum pierced plate holding the round old cut diamonds and rich blue rectangular sapphire.

I particularly like the axis of the design going across the finger. This means that although it’s not a large ring, you get a lot of coverage.
