Good amethyst and diamond rings are not common, so I’m delighted to offer this appealing Art Deco example.

The deep purple multifaceted oval amethyst weighs about 3 1/2 carats and has lovely red flashes from its sides.

Tiny old single cut diamonds are set close together on each V-shaped shoulder.

Handcrafted in 18-carat white gold in about 1940, the pierced mount adds lightness to the sturdy design, as does the delicate millegrain setting for the diamonds.

• Handmade in 18-carat white gold
• Oval deep purple amethyst estimated at 3.45 carats
• 16 old single cut round diamonds estimated to total 0.11 carats, graded set as H-I/SI
• Comes with an independent insurance valuation for $4,850
• Size approximately 7 or N 1/2, but easily resized free of charge
• Weight is 3.5 grams
• In excellent antique condition
• Will come in a Karen Deakin gift box (my antique boxes are not for sale)
• Note: the Art Deco emerald and diamond ring is for sale separately – please get in touch if you’d like information about it
