Ask a question

Here’s a ring for those who love amethysts and Art Deco – the two don’t often come together, as darker hues were usually favoured by Art Deco jewellers when employing colour.

The design is a variation on a much-loved classic featuring a rectangular emerald cut main stone.

Here a pretty mid-shade amethyst, flanked by two white and lively old cut diamonds, sits in a low, handcrafted 18-carat white gold setting.

The gallery has delicate scrollwork and the diamonds are set in a milled border, adding further appeal.

• Handmade in 18-carat white gold
• Rectangular step cut natural mid purple amethyst measuring 10.70 × 8.83 x 5.28mm estimated at 3.24 carats
• Four old mine cut diamonds estimated to total 0.24 carats, graded set a H/SI & piqué
• Comes with an independent insurance valuation for $4,750
• Size approximately 5 1/4 or K, but easily resized free of charge
• Weight is 3.6 grams
• In excellent vintage condition
• Will come in a Karen Deakin gift box (my antique boxes are not for sale)
