SOLD: Victorian 15-carat gold earrings, circa 1880
$1,876.00
Out of stock
I was pleased to find these mid-Victorian 15-carat gold earrings – they are getting so rare. And these are quite unusual.
The central hollow torpedo drop is surmounted by a half ellipse of flattened gold decorated with applied leaves and an inverted heart.
The ribbed lower section is articulated, and holds a tiny ball on each side.
On top is a sphere of hollow gold, echoing the shape of the small drops.
And the gold is that lovely buttery hue we all love in earrings from this period.
