Ask a question

Here’s a classic late Victorian Scottish bracelet.

Vari-coloured local agates and minerals have been carved into octagonal rods, then linked together with ornately engraved 15-carat gold caps, and finished with a similarly worked clasp.

Queen Victoria’s love of all things Scottish was taken up and copied by her devoted subjects.

High-carat gold examples like this are far less common than silver pieces.

The warm colour of the agates chosen here work beautifully with the rich yellow of the gold, too.

• Handmade in 15-carat yellow gold
• Set with mixed Scottish agates and citrine
• Approximately 7 1/2 inches (19cm) long, 1.5cm (over 1/2 inch) wide
• Weight is 32.5 grams
• In very good antique condition: one of the agates has an old, stable repair
• Will come in a Karen Deakin gift box
