From 1880 until about 1915 these carved half hoops were extremely popular in England. This fine example is from about 1890.
A friend says this ring looks like “old money”. It’s true: it isn’t ostentatious but it exudes quiet quality. Eight tiny rose-cut diamonds set between the three rubies and the two larger diamonds amplify its sparkle.
These old carved half hoops are so hard to find nowadays. I’m always thrilled to offer a beauty like this, with original stones and in wonderful condition.

• Handmade in 18-carat yellow gold
• Central deep-red untreated natural ruby estimated at 0.52 carats, the other two as totalling 0.42 carats
• Two old European cut diamonds estimated at 0.76 carats total, graded set as SI1 and SI2
• Eight rose-cut diamonds estimated at 0.04 carats total, graded set at H/SI
• Comes with an independent insurance valuation for $9,500
• Size approximately 9 1/2 or S, but easily resized free of charge
• In excellent antique condition
