A pair of 15-carat bloomed gold mid-Victorian Creole hoop earrings, probably from the 1850s or 1860s.

Early interpretations of the Etruscan Revival style like these tend to have delicate filigree work decorating the surface. Later examples are usually heavier, more muscular and geometric;

And English Victorian earrings tend to have closed backs like these. Often American-made examples are open at the back.

Karen's shop has been such a delightful find! It can be hard to find a good antique jewellery shop and some can be very unapproachable. Karen's shop is the opposite! Karen is very welcoming, warm and trustworthy. When you buy something from her shop, you can trust that it is an antique which is not always the case from other sellers in my experience. I have purchased two gorgeous lockets from her which I treasure. Every time I visit, (dangerously) there is always something that catches my eye! If only I could visit more often!
