SOLD: Art Nouveau gold portrait pendant with rose cut diamonds, circa 1900
$1,206.00
Out of stock
Here’s a lovely Art Nouveau 18-carat gold and rose cut diamond pendant.
The rose cut diamonds are good quality; they’re full cut stones, unlike the chips one often sees in such pieces.
The gold clasp on top is a bonus – it didn’t start life with the pendant. This makes it easy to clip it on to a chain without sliding it on and off.
Sometimes these pieces have a wide grin on the model’s face, showing not very nice teeth, as was often the case in reality before good dental work became common.
In this case she is truly pretty, serenely looking into the distance. Her flowing hair is beautifully modelled, too.
