SOLD: Edwardian necklace with peridots and natural pearls

This pretty Edwardian 15-carat gold peridot and pearl pendant was a rescue job. It had been converted into a brooch, hanging from an ugly gold bar.

My jeweller removed this addition and swapped in an antique 15-carat trace chain I had in my box of precious/useful bits. It means that the finished jewel is not so much a conversion as a restoration.

The long thin design is typical of Edwardian pendants, as is the fan-shaped top.

The natural pearls are lustrous; the peridots – a favourite in the late 19th and early 20th centuries – are intense and bright.

And the millegrain setting, popular between 1880 and 1920, adds to the typically delicate and airy look of the time.

I bought from Karen on Etsy, what an amazing shop she has to offer and even more amazing customer service with unmatched jeweler expertise. Karen's shop has been such a delightful find! It can be hard to find a good antique jewellery shop and some can be very unapproachable. Karen's shop is the opposite! Karen is very welcoming, warm and trustworthy. When you buy something from her shop, you can trust that it is an antique which is not always the case from other sellers in my experience. I have purchased two gorgeous lockets from her which I treasure. Every time I visit, (dangerously) there is always something that catches my eye! If only I could visit more often!
