Good looks and great value – what’s not to love?

This charming 18-carat example is set with an old mine cut diamond and bears an 1896 Birmingham hallmark and an 1895 registration mark.

The latter signifies that its maker wished to copyright a novel design – possibly here the hand-carved leaves at the shoulders and/or the sweeping diagonal central “banner”.

It’s a low-profile ring that looks pretty on its own or worn as part of a stack. As long as it’s treated with care, it’s perfectly suited for everyday wear.
